1896년 3월 29일 고종 황제는 제임스 R. 모스에게 경인선 철도 부설권을 부여하였다.
그후 여러 사건을 거쳐 1899년 9월 18일 노량진 ~ 제물포간 33.2km의 경인철도가 국내에서는 최초로 개통되었다.
이 앱은 영국에서 L자형 레일위에서 말이 화차를 끌던 17세기부터, 국내에 최초로 철도가 도입되었던 1899년까지의 철도의 변해가는 모습을 담았다.
